Celkon, ZTE Telecom to make WiFi 6 routers in AP

Hyderabad: Celkon Resolute said it has partnered with ZTE Telecom to manufacture WiFi 6 Routers in Andhra Pradesh. This strategic alliance marks a significant leap towards integrating advanced solutions, starting with the implementation of WiFi 6 technology.
The collaboration between Celkon Resolute and ZTE Telecom aims to introduce cutting-edge WiFi 6 technology globally, promising faster and more reliable internet connectivity. The initiative is poised to generate employment for up to 1,000 individuals initially, with plans for further expansion, strengthening regional economic growth.
These routers will be made at the state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Celkon Resolute, located in the Tirupati Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC - 1), which is currently under construction. The new facility is set to open in August this year. Once operational, the facility will initially have a manufacturing capacity of 2 lakh units a month. Production capacity is set to increase to 5 lakh units per month within three to four months with a focus on serving overseas markets.

The introduction of WiFi 6 Routers is set to revolutionize infrastructure globally, enabling seamless connectivity and enhanced data management. Speaking on the occasion, Nara Lokesh, IT Minister of Andhra Pradesh, expressed his happiness to see ZTE Celkon become part of Andhra Pradesh’s industrial ecosystem. “While this is just the beginning for ZTE in AP with WiFi 6 routers manufacturing, we wish to see other verticals from the global ZTE portfolio produced in AP,” the Minister added.
